Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey has provided access to quality health care and financial security to people across the state since 1932. That year, Associated Hospitals of Essex County, Inc. was incorporated as the first multi-hospital prepayment plan. It later became one of the first Blue Cross plans in the nation. Today, we are the oldest and largest health insurer in New Jersey serving nearly 3.4 million members.

For 75 years, Horizon BCBSNJ has been an important part of New Jersey.
