General Information

Miscellaneous Facts
  • There are more astronauts in the world than airship pilots.
  • There are only about 25 blimps in operation in the entire world.
  • An airship is never left alone. There is always a crew member on watch 24 hours per day. They must check the pressure in the airship on an hourly basis to be sure there are no leaks.
  • Airships are flown from city to city and not deflated, because the process would be very costly and time consuming.
