One of our Core Values at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is Caring.  As a company, community service activities and volunteerism are vital parts of our corporate culture.  We facilitate the process that enables our employees to give back to the communities in which they live.  In fact, volunteerism is such an integral part of the culture at Horizon BCBSNJ that employees can earn a financial match for the volunteer service to non-profit causes. 

In 2006, Horizon BCBSNJ established a formalized employee volunteer program.  Partnering with VolunteerMatch, the largest online volunteer network in the country, we provide thousands of opportunities for employees to contribute their time and expertise toward bettering their community.

Since the launch of our employee volunteer program, more than
1,300 employees have registered as volunteers, contributing 6,000 hours to helping others.  Our employees volunteer individually and as teams.  From working with animals in shelters, to feeding the hungry in soup kitchens, to mentoring children, our employees are making a positive impact and helping thousands of people.
