Like many organizations, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey has experienced a significant decline in the value of our investment portfolio due to the market downturn. Our primary concern given this situation is the impact that it will have on you, our grantees. We understand and appreciate the vital contributions you make to the special quality of life we enjoy as New Jersey residents. The Foundation will continue to make grants in 2009. Out of necessity, however, we must apply the following restrictions: Grants will be made only to current grantees who: a. received a Health or Arts grant in 2008; and b. met or exceeded the project goals and objectives they stated in their grant application.
- Current grantees, who apply for another grant in 2009, may obtain a grant at a reduced amount compared to the grant amount they received in 2008.
- The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey is unable to accept proposals from new grantees, other than by special invitation from the Foundation, for the remainder of 2009.
If you are not a current grantee and you have not been invited to apply, please do not submit an application in 2009. We thank you for your interest. We apologize we cannot help your organization, but we have no choice given this challenging economic environment. The Foundation’s focus, for the remainder of 2009, will be to work with our current grantees. 2009 Calendar: · Due Dates for Complete Proposal Packages May 29 for consideration at July Board Meeting September 1 for consideration at October Board Meeting September 30 for consideration at December Board Meeting · The Foundation’s grant cycle will close on September 30, 2009 · The Foundation’s grant cycle will reopen January 4, 2010
