Did you know that nearly 10,000 new cases of multiple sclerosis are diagnosed annually in the United States?  Studies have shown that early adherence to therapy slows the progression of this chronic disease.*

 

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey empowers you by helping you understand how to better manage your multiple sclerosis and adhere to your personal therapy.  The Multiple Sclerosis Health Education Program is for eligible members age 18 and older who are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.  This no-cost program invites members to take advantage of its valuable resources, including: 

  • Toll-free support line staffed by registered nurses specializing in multiple sclerosis care.
  • Quarterly educational mailings about multiple sclerosis.
  • Personal dietician to review your individual nutritional needs.
  • Information about innovations in treatment and nationally recognized guidelines to help you manage your multiple sclerosis.
  • Valuable resource informationincluding community programs, support groups and web-based educational resources.

The goal of this program is to help you reach your optimal health care goals and adhere to the treatment plan established by your physician.
