Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey extends our heartfelt thoughts to all
the victims of the recent hurricanes. In the wake of these disasters, we recognize
that these storms may have impacted members. If you are a Horizon BCBSNJ member,
our focus remains on helping you receive the care you need.
We are making special provisions for members who may have faced barriers to health
care. Until further notice, we will adjust claims for out-of-network services related
to these disasters based on a member's request. Additionally, impacted members can
request to have ID cards shipped overnight to an alternate address. Horizon BCBSNJ
will also call physicians and hospitals to verify and confirm benefits when requested.
This will help ensure impacted members get the care they need, when they need it.
