In his new position with Horizon BCBSNJ, Mr. Bowles will be responsible for leading sales and account management for all major market segments, including small group, mid-size, jumbo, Public Sector, Labor, and National Accounts.

Prior to coming to Horizon BCBSNJ, Mr. Bowles was the Chief Marketing Officer for OptumHealth Specialty Benefits, a UnitedHealth Group company.  Mr. Bowles started his sales career at Cigna where he progressed to Senior Vice President of Group Sales.

“We look forward to utilizing Al’s 30 years of sales, marketing and management experience to increase our membership and drive profitable growth for the company,” said Marino.

Mr. Bowles received his BS in Finance and Management from the University of Richmond. He completed the Executive Program at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.  Mr. Bowles and his wife Laurie have two children.
