Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) will provide free health screenings and health information at the New Jersey Governor’s Conference for Women. Horizon BCBSNJ is a sponsor of the “Shape Your Future” Health Fair on Tuesday, May 12, at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
“The Governor’s Conference for Women plays an important role in publicizing the steps women need to take in order to live a healthy lifestyle,” said Larry Altman, Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Communications, Horizon BCBSNJ. “As New Jersey’s largest health insurer, we are proud to play a role at the conference and provide critical screenings and information to help keep New Jersey women healthy.”
The 2009 Governor’s Conference for Women is hosted by the Department of Community Affairs’ Division on Women and features a keynote address by poet, playwright and actress Maya Angelou. Aptly themed “Shaping the Future,” the event will provide participants with a variety of workshops on women’s health and wellness, personal and career development and financial management in today’s economic climate.The event begins on May 11 with an evening reception to honor Ms. Lisa Jackson, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, and continues the following day with exciting events including speaker Cokie Roberts, the “Shape Your Future” Health Fair, exhibitors, educational sessions, and keynote address by Maya Angelou.
