Horizon NJ Health Honors Network Providers For Exceptional Levels of Care

Horizon NJ Health announced today that 15 of the company’s southern network providers were acknowledged at the Horizon NJ Health Provider Recognition Dinner. The event, celebrated twice yearly, recognizes the remarkable work and service that is provided to publicly insured children and adults throughout New Jersey. On Thursday, July 16, 2009, the 14 physicians and one nurse practitioner were honored at the Horizon NJ Health Provider Recognition Dinner at Braddocks Tavern, Medford. NJ.
“Since 2005, when we first created this program, we have honored more than 85 northern and southern network providers who have provided exceptional levels of care to their patients,” commented Karen L. Clark, President and Chief Operating Officer for Horizon NJ Health. “We recognize the quality care they provide and their skills in communication, education and in the art of listening make a dramatic impact on the health outcomes of their patients.”
“By honoring these providers, we not only recognize their good work, but we hope to encourage others to provide the highest possible level of care to their patients,” commented Philip M. Bonaparte, MD, Vice President for Clinical Affairs, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey and Chief Medical Officer for Horizon NJ Health. “The physicians honored help their patients understand what they can do for themselves to help reduce the risk of disease through screenings, routine doctor visits and making decisions for healthier lifestyles.”
Horizon NJ Health selects honorees by reviewing data from our network of more than 9,000 doctors and specialists. This data include many factors, such as the number of well visits, immunization rates, preventive screenings and access to care.
