Jackie Jennifer is Senior Vice President of Service. Ms. Jennifer oversees all aspects of customer service and operations within the company and works to ensure that Horizon
Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey delivers high-quality service to members, brokers, physicians, hospitals and other important business partners.

Ms. Jennifer has more than 30 years of experience in the health insurance industry, including an extensive background in managing large service and claims operations. In her position, she oversees the company’s “World Class” customer service initiative as well as the day-to-day operations of Horizon BCBSNJ’s Customer Service organization.

Ms. Jennifer joined Horizon BCBSNJ in October 2000, following two years as Vice President of Operations for Premera Blue Cross in Seattle, Washington.

Prior to joining Premera Blue Cross, she held senior management positions with Omni Healthcare, Inc. and Foundation Health Federal Services both in Sacramento, California and with Health Net in Woodland Hills, California. Earlier, she spent five years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maryland. Her career also encompasses high-level assignments with Allstate Insurance, American Life and Health Insurance and CareFirst Health Plan.

Ms. Jennifer holds a B.A. degree from Morgan State University and has completed post-graduate work at the University of Baltimore School of Law, both in Baltimore, Maryland.

A long-time supporter of charitable and service organizations, Ms. Jennifer currently serves on the Foundation Board of the SERV family of organizations, a Princeton-based nonprofit behavioral health care organization that provides housing, training, occupational and other support to adults working to recover from and cope with mental illness. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Women in Support of United Way of Essex and West Hudson and is a member of the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Initiative.
