Bob Pures is currently Senior Vice President - Administration, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ). Mr. Pures has been with Horizon BCBSNJ since 1985. Horizon BCBSNJ is the largest health insurer in New Jersey covering over 3.6 million people with annual premiums of over $5 billion.
Mr. Pures is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and obtained his MBA from Boston College. After serving four years as an officer in the United States Air Force, he worked in public accounting for Andersen LLP. He later moved on to GAF Corporation and then stayed for almost ten years at Purolator Courier Corporation, rising to the position of Vice President - Finance of the U.S. Courier Division.
Mr. Pures is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of CPAs, as well as the New Jersey Society of CPAs. Mr. Pures is also a director of the New Jersey Chapter of the Financial Executives Institute, a member of the Board of Trustees of Cancer Care of New Jersey, a member of The Silberman College Board of Advisors for Fairleigh Dickinson University and a member of The Board of Advisors for Rutgers Business School.
