Member Online Services EnhancementSubscribers can now view their covered dependents' information.
As of January 19, 2008, subscribers will have the ability to view all of their dependents' health care and dental information with a single user ID and password through Member Online Services. Dependents under age 18 who were previously registered will no longer have access to their own user ID and password. The information will be available through the subscriber’s user ID and password.
Questions and Answers regarding enhancements to Member Online Services......
Q. Does the subscriber need to register their dependents separately in order to see their health care/dental information via Member Online Services? A. As of January 19, 2008, dependent(s) will no longer be required to register and obtain a user ID and password for Member Online Services. Subscribers will now be able to view all of their dependents' health care and dental information under the subscriber’s user ID and password.

Q. If the subscriber was registered prior to January 19, 2008, will the subscriber need to re-register in order to view his/her dependents' health care and dental information under the subscriber user ID? A. No, the subscriber will not need to re-register. After January 19, 2008, when the subscriber logs onto Member Online Services with their existing user ID and password, the subscriber will automatically be able to view all of their dependents' health care and dental information under a single user ID and password.

Q. If I am a dependent under age 18 who has a user ID and password, why am I not able to access Member Online Services? A. Dependents under age 18 who were previously registered will no longer have access to a separate user ID and password. Please log on as the subscriber to access dependent information.

It is no longer necessary for dependents under the age of 18 to have a separate user ID and password for Member Online Services. Q. Will dependents over the age of 18 who were previously registered still be able to access Member Online Services under their own user ID and password? A. Yes, dependents over the age of 18 who were registered prior to January 19, 2008 will still be able to log on using their own user ID and password. However, the subscriber will also be able to view all of their dependents' health care and dental information under the subscriber’s user ID and password.

Yes, the dependent should contact the Horizon BCBSNJ eBusiness Helpdesk via email at Member_Portal@Horizon-BCBSNJ.com to request your status be changed to either Opt In or Opt Out.

Q. Can a dependent over the age of 18 who was registered prior to January 19, 2008 restrict the subscriber from viewing their health care and dental information under the subscriber’s user ID and password? A. Dependents that are over age 18 and are registering for the first time may restrict their information through Member Online Services from the subscriber. During registration, dependents over age 18 will have the ability to select one of the following: Opt In: the subscriber will still be able to view the dependents' health care and dental information through Member Online Services. Opt Out: the subscriber will not be able to view the dependent's health care and dental information through Member Online Services.

Q. Can a dependent under the age of 18 restrict the subscriber from viewing their health care and dental information under the subscriber’s user ID and password? A. Yes, however, after January 19, 2008, in order for a dependent under the age of 18 to restrict subscriber access and obtain their own ID and password, the dependent will need to contact Horizon BCBSNJ’s customer service department through written correspondence.

Click on "Register Today." | Upon a successful registration, your user ID will be displayed on the screen and a temporary password will be sent to the email address provided.
